About Chicago Motor Fuel Tax Bonds

The City of Chicago’s Motor Fuel Tax Credit is supported by Motor Fuel Tax Revenue plus Additional City Revenues. These are comprised of a combination of Riverwalk revenues received from licensing docks for tour boat operation, outdoor kiosk advertising, sponsorship of events and programs, naming rights, concession sales of food, beverages, goods and services, and meters or similar devices for docking or mooring of boats and similar vessels at City-owned docks and slips.

The City’s Budget Director, in consultation with the City’s Chief Financial Officer, has the right to include other sources of legally available revenues as Additional City Revenues.
